It's Magic!

I wish the smell of fresh clean carpet would stay that way forever, but accidents happen especially with cats and dogs. Magic Fresh is an odor reducing carpet treatment that really is magic. It is only found in carpets made by Beaulieu and works by breaking down odor compounds and releases them back into the air as odorless carbon dioxide. It is harmless and lasts for up to ten years, or up to 5 hot professional cleanings. We took the Magic Fresh challenge at the office this week.... we took an untreated piece of carpet and a Magic Fresh treated carpet. We used a dropper and put a few drops of ammonia on each carpet piece. We then placed them in separate containers with a lid on. We let them sit overnight and opened them up the next morning. It was shocking to see the results. The carpet sample treated with Magic Fresh smelled like a brand new piece of carpet. However, the untreated carpet still reeked with the ammonia smell. Magic Fresh also helps in eliminating odors from cooking and cigarette smoke.

I stumbled across an interesting article today called "Made in America," "World news with Diane Sawyer." The goal was for them to furnish three rooms with American-Made products. The rooms included a living room, kitchen, and a bedroom. It said, "Economists say that if everyone of us spent an extra $3.33 on U.S.-made goods every year, it would create nearly 10,000 new jobs in this country." Something to think about? The other day I watched as my 60 pound Lab slurped to get a quick drink...even though there is a towel under his bowl a puddle started to form on our hardwood floor. I then continued to watch him sprint across the floor and carelessly slide into the rug. Not the most graceful sight, but this got me thinking about what type  of flooring would be best for people with pets. World’s Largest Pie Fight!

What would the world's largets pie fight have to do with carpet? A new Guinness World Record was recently set by Shaw for having the World's Largest Pie Fight. Over 300 People threw 1,200 assorted pies. The fight was done over Anso nylon carpet. They had to clean up over 3,000 pounds of messy pie. It is amazing how well the carpet cleaned up! Shaw wanted to show how well their durability and stain repelling power worked with their Anso nylon products. It was not just a pie fight though...they also made a donation that will make 40,000 to 70,000 meals to Tarrant Area Food Bank.
